It features excellent Claus performance and effectively eliminates trace oxygen in process gas, shielding downstream catalysts against sulfation poisoning.
A958 can be packed independently in a single reactor or laid on top of activated alumina catalyst beds, taking up 1/2 or 1/3 of the total catalyst filling volume. Insensitive to fluctuating working conditions and excess SO₂/O₂ in feed gas, it is ideal for low-load facilities or units with frequent dramatic load variations. Under identical equipment and process parameters, the overall sulfur conversion rate can be boosted by around 1.7%. It is specially designed for sulfur recovery units with high H₂S concentration and wide feed flow fluctuations.
